Roth Excavating offers septic system installation, repair, and replacement. We serve several counties in Ohio to include Logan, Union, Delaware, Hardin, Shelby, and Champaign. We are licensed by the State of Ohio Department of Health and register in the individual counties as needed. Current registration may not include all the counties listed above but we can register at any time as needed.
There are many different types of septic system treatments to include but not limited to leach beds, sand filters, mound systems, drip systems, spray systems, bioreactors, NPDES, and more. Each system is unique and has its application. Contact us today to discuss your project.
Installing new or replacing an existing septic system
We often receive calls asking how much does a septic system cost. This is a difficult question to answer without all the details, very much like going to the doctor. We need to know what is in the soil, under the soil, limiting conditions, where the perched (seasonal) water table is and more. This is where we need a soil scientist to investigate. Other information such as number of bedrooms, lot size, and property features are also factors. All this information is needed before we can provide an estimate.
Soil Reports
A soil report from a soil scientist is the first step in getting an estimate for a new or replacement septic system. The soil scientist will probe or bore several locations on the property so a soil report may be completed. A minimum of two evaluations are required by the Health Department in Ohio.
The image below is a sample soil evaluation of the soil report from a system that we installed. I have omitted some information from this evaluation to protect the scientist and our client. As you can see, there is a lot of information on the evaluation. This one page from a multiple page report.

We have provided two links to soil evaluators. Evaluators tend to stick to their territories. We can help you to find the evaluator for your area.
Septic System Designs
Once we have obtained a copy of the soil report, the design process can begin. We will need information in addition to the soil report to determine tank sizing, tank type, dispersal type, etc. Some systems may need to have a professional engineer design the system. We have contacts for those too.
